Shout Music Productions

About Shout Music

Shout Music Productions, is the creation of Phuzz and Android, two music producers, songwriters, and remixers with a breadth of music industry experience. The two members created the electronic dance group L.E.D.  In the mid-90's, L.E.D. developed a reputation as underground dance charters. L.E.D.'s 1995 full length CD Shortwave was acclaimed the breakout CD of the month by Dance Music Authority and was awarded the best dance record of the year at the Minnesota Music Awards. All three of their independent released singles on Minneapolis based Exit Records reached top 10 status on major national dance charts and received rave reviews in magazines such as Alternative Press, Billboard, DMA, Net Magazine, and numerous others. The band also gained notoriety for their unique high-energy live show performances, ranging from late night club cameos to their sold out venue concerts.

By the late 90's, the two principle members of L.E.D. began to focus solely on songwriting, producing, and remixing. The two worked with a number of recording artists and labels in an effort to further expand their horizons. In 1997, Phuzz hooked up with Twisted America Records (the brainchild of legendary dance label record executives Rob DiStefano and Mark Davenport). Phuzz contributed several remixes for artists on MCA records and Twisted America, including the 1998 #1 Billboard magazine charting Club 69 single, "Much Better" featuring Suzanne Palmer on vocals.

After releasing one final dance charter Chemical Gun as L.E.D., Phuzz and Android partnered up to found Shout Music Productions. Along with the continued success in dance music, the founding of Shout Music Productions opened up the opportunity to expand into other musical genres. Over the past six years, Shout Music Productions has written and produced music for film and TV, as well as for an assortment of recording artists. Illustrating their expansion into other genres, Shout Music Productions was hired to produce, engineer, mix and contribute several songs for the international debut album of SoulFood "Breathe" on Rykodisc Records. The album received critical acclaim in the world music and ambient music industry. The song, "Chameleon", written and produced by Shout Music Productions, became a featured song on the album.

With the notoriety received from "Chameleon", Shout Music Productions was asked to contribute the song, along with several new songs, remixes, and productions to the IMAX film Extreme. The film was released in the summer of 1999 along with a full length compilation CD on Rykodisc records and was awarded Best IMAX score of the year. Other notable TV and film contributions from Shout Music Productions include the PBS documentary "Condition Black" and Baywatch Hawai'i which opened up its television premiere with a 2 minute creation from Shout Music Productions.

In 2005 Shout Music Productions is continuing to provide their unique blend of songwriting, remixing, and producing talents to several exciting new projects.
